About

I am Georgia.  My husband Dean and I have two beautiful children – Adrianna 12 (A.J.) and Christopher James 10 (C.J.).  If that weren’t enough to keep me busy, I ran my own retail business for several years and after finally selling up decided I wanted to follow my passion, went back to university and began to study archaeology!  You would think that these changes would be enough to make me happy, but I was an overweight smoker  with a long list of medical conditions which was growing longer every year.  It was not until my daughter had a series of medical crisis which forced my husband and I to consider medication that I began to research alternatives and came to one monumental conclusion – A.J.’s condition (and my own medical issues) could be managed almost entirely through diet and exercise!!!!   My journey began when I stopped hiding behind all of my good excuses (and believe me…they were really good, can’t argue with that, kind of excuses) and decided that no matter how “under the pump” my lifestyle may have been in order to provide the best for my family I needed to make health and well-being the number one priority.  The time had come for me to stop using junk food and cigarettes as a crutch and get active.

Through this blog, I will share with you my transformation from an 85kg unfit, unhappy and unhealthy mum to a 58kg happy and healthy woman in under 12 months. I will share the changes we have made as a family and I will share all the little tips and tricks which made balancing family, education, career, health and fitness possible for me.  Finally, I will share with you my new found passion for weight training with its ability to not only strengthen the mind and body, but to re-sculpt my body into the form of my own design.  I am Georgia and my family is stronger because I am stronger – welcome to Under the Pump.
